Social Bookmarking Demon
Social bookmarking demon is my favourite tool. The upsides are that it is very whitehat, so you don't risk getting your domain and IP address banned and your accounts deleted.
You can decide how "aggressive" you want to use this tool.
It has a built in (working) proxy server finder. If you don't know what that means, it's basically a way of "hiding" your true identity from the bookmarking sites. Everytime you visit a social bookmarking site they can see the "address" of your computer - if they see that from the same address there are several accounts, they will percieve that as spam and shut you down after a certain amount of signups and submissions (generally speaking).
Another reason why I like it is that is also has a build in "randomizer" - thus you avoid duplicate content.
You probably already know that Google does NOT like duplicate content - SPECIALLY if lots of sites link to you with exact the same text. They percieve this as a spam attempt and you can get your site "banned" from Google.
I had this happen to one of my websites one time. This was painful - I wrote really high-quality unique content, then I made videos and podcasts to go along with it and I got on the first page of the google results very fast, and in fact even got a number one spot. A good flow of traffic came in. I think I invested around 120 to 150 hours in this website. I check my stats three times a week - and this time I was surprised - 0 visitors. I went over to the site to see if something was wrong with the tracking code in the footer. Looked ok though. I thought maybe a glitch with analytics? I then typed in the keyword in Google and didn't find my website... until the google search results page 27! Yep, that means I slid down from a number one position to something like 263 or something. NOBODY looks that far, that's like being non-existent. That site basically if flat now.
No use crying over spilled milk, but I now want to be 100% this doesn't happen again. That's why I like the randomizer.
What exactly does it randomize? The title, description and keywords that you use to submit your webpages with. And I don't mean that it just arbitrarily randomizes it (would be of much use if the title would be "Auto Repair Guide" if you're promoting a credit card affiliate program, right)?
You can type in several alternative titles and descriptions and it will then shuffle them randomly together for each page. From the keywords you entered it will randomly select just some of them, different combinations each time. Thus, you avoid the duplicate content trap every time.
And best of all: it really works. And what I mean with that is - it drove traffic to my sites, and this traffic made me money. It made me more money than what I spend on the software, and with very little effort I get a lot of results.
You can also "test drive" the software for a full 8 weeks - if during that time you are not satisfied you can get a full refund.
Social Bookmarks Submitter
I think $150 is a bit too much for this tool..
Advantages are import & export functionality (just like Bookmark Demon) and it gets updates regularly.
It also uses time intervals so that Google won't think you're spamming the bookmarking sites. You won't even have to sign up for user accounts anymore, because you install the Social Bookmarks Submitter on your server and it goes out to social websites and creates the accounts automatically for you (even if your computer is turned off). And it automatically takes your websites title, description and keywords and puts them into the keywords.
However - this only works as long as there is no CAPTCHA field that needs to be filled out (these image verification things where you see numbers and letters in an image and you need to fill them in a field before you can submit) - since they are now basically everywhere, it's not that automated anymore...
It also works with proxy servers, but you have to find working proxy servers yourself.
Also, the developer only offers a 7 day money back guarantee. I really doubt whether that is enough time to judge the effectiveness of a social bookmarking tool.
While all this is great (100% automation and even less maintenance than Social Bookmark Demon) it will also mean that you are much more likely to get banned + the really good, authority social bookmarking sites all have captcha now - so it's really pseudo automated.
Sozial Buzz Master (Paid - Outdated)
Social Buzz Master looks like it's dead. I haven't seen any updates since 2007 and if you jump over to their website there is a fancy salesletter, but you can't actually buy the software (or get your hands on it in any other way).
Auto Social Poster (Paid - Outdated)
This is (was) another tool that worked good last year - now it's dead too (again, the salespage is up, but as soon as you click on "order" you get forwarded to a broken page.
It was a good solution for blogs, but for nothing else - if you posted a new blog post it automatically submitted your new post to several social bookmarking sites.
This software was good at it's time, it also had a randomizer function just like Social Bookmarking Demon, but you had to sign up for accounts manually yourself which was time intensive.
SocialMarker.com (Free)
SocialMarker is a FREE tool that you can use by just visiting socialmarker.com - you don't need to download anything. Frankly, I'd say you get what you pay for.
Yes, you can submit your website to 47 social bookmarking sites - but you need to manually sign up for each account, you need to log in for each account and if you want to submit more than one bookmark per page you'll need to log out of all the bookmarking sites, create a new account, log into the new account... believe me, it IS very time and labour intensive. If you're serious about making money online, don't use this tool.
SEO guru Jeff Johnson actually recommended it recently - but he did not use it himself but had some of his helpers do it for him. I followed their instructions and have to say it didn't work out - it is just too time intensive, specially if you'll do this more than once a day (which you will).
OnlyWire.com (Free)
OnlyWire is another free tool, similar to Social Marketer. This tool actually allows you to create an account where all your logins for several sites are saved - so you don't have to sign in at each bookmarking site manually again.
The problem with OnlyWire is that their submission sites are down all the time and you encounter lots of site errors. (One of the most common replies I got from onlywire is "The system is currently unavailable.
Our Engineers are aware of the situation and are working to resolve the issue. Please check back shortly." Not the reliable tool that you need to make a living online.
SocialPoster.com (Free)
SocialPoster is basically a clone of SocialMarker.com - again, too time intensive.
SocialMatic.com (Free)
Another free tool - it's currently in beta. SocialMatic also captures screenshots of bookmarked websites. If you want you can drag a bookmark into your firefox browserbar and then once you are on a site you just click on that bookmark and it will submit to several (currently 13) social bookmarking sites. Again, for our purposes this isn't enough.
GetBookmark.com (Free)
Also completely free and pretty new, this is a OnlyWire clone. I tried to submit here, and it went pretty smooth and fast - however, upon checking I found that it did not bookmark the sites. I tried again and three out of 24 sites bookmarked it, the others didn't... so, think about that for a timeserver, having to check with each account whether it actually got bookmarked.
